Orders Cancelled Repeatedly – Even After Following All Instructions

I’ve faced repeated order issues on Costco.ca despite doing everything right. The first time, I was told there was a billing address mismatch – which was false. Then they blamed my email. After that, they said I didn’t use my full legal name in billing. Each time, I followed their instructions to the letter.

I even changed my email address, as suggested, and used my full legal billing name. I spoke with multiple representatives, including Mike and Alex, who walked me through the process. Still, my latest order was placed on hold. And when I tried to cancel it, I was told it had already shipped – adding more confusion.

I was given a $50 voucher as compensation, but I’ve now had to request that be turned into a shop card since I can’t place online orders reliably.

I work in secure systems and understand backend environments – the problem is clearly with Costco.ca’s platform and how customer data is being handled internally. It’s not the customer’s fault when support gives inconsistent information and the system rejects valid orders.

Costco needs to take ownership of these issues and fix them at the root instead of expecting customers to bend around temporary workarounds.

We wasted multiple hours of our work- day, and achieved no tangible problem- resolution, except unwarranted harassment from these Costco employees.

Recently, we called Costco at (888) 426 – 7826, after we emailed Costco.ca ( via their “email us” website option).

Even after multiple days, we did not receive any reply.

Thereafter, We spoke to a Ms. Lily, customer service representative, in the Ecommerce department of Costco.ca.

Lily was verbally abusive, technically incompetent, repeatedly interrupting, gave us conflicting versions of solutions , which was tantamount to bureaucratic Stonewalling. She began yelling at us, when we called her out for her errors.

We were placed on- hold for over 35 minutes.

Lily refused to connect us to a supervisor, and abruptly disconnected our phone- call, I.E. hung- up.

Thereafter, we spoke to a supervisor Mr. Olin. Colin had not even reviewed the prior relevant record (which he claimed to have done). When we pointed out his errors, he executed a Bureaucratic “cover up”, acted as a defense attorney for his employee, refused to acknowledge his lapses, and abruptly disconnected our call.

We wasted multiple hours of our work- day, and achieved no tangible problem- resolution, except unwarranted harassment from these Costco employees.

On a Balance of Probability, it is very likely that there may be other Vulnerable Victims of such Systemic bully tactics, Misuse of vested authority, abuse of power, in dealing with ordinary taxpayers and paying customers.

Omega 3 eggs look Anemic

Im a carnivore. I buy Costco’s Omega 3 eggs but lately the yolks are an anemic light yellow instead of healthy yellowy orange. Are they even Omega 3 anymore? Very disappointed.

They keep moving stuff around. I get it so people would look around and try to get them to buy other stuff.

But it creates traffic, long line ups. Usually people have a shopping list and just want to go in and out asap.

I looked at it a couple of weeks ago and just checked into your website as I know my membership has expired and I wanted to renew so I could buy this thing. It’s no longer a good buy compared to other retailers. Same price as everyone else so why call yourself a wholesaler. LOL

Costco is great

Costco is great. Low prices and reasonably helpful staff, what more do you want? We have several in Montreal so the trip there isn’t too long. Definitely come with a car because you’ll need the space. The only thing I continue disliking about Costco is the membership thing. I find it silly that a supermarket charges people for the right to shop there. I’m a reluctant member.

I’m an American who visited Costco in Canada. It may look identical, but it’s not the same.

  • Costco has more than 100 locations in Canada.
  • I visited a Costco in Niagara Falls to see how it compared to US locations in 2022.
  • The Costco I visited looked identical to those in the US, but there were a few key differences.

Growing up, my parents loved Costco because they could purchase food in bulk for our family of four at low prices. I remember spending Saturday afternoons exploring the warehouse with my brother while my parents shopped for produce, snacks, and everything in between with their membership.

While Costco started in the US — its first location opened as a Price Club in 1976 in a converted airplane hangar in San Diego — the wholesale outlet is now in eight countries, including Canada, according to the company’s website.

As I learned on a trip there in 2022, Canada is home to more than 100 locations. While in the country for the first time, I stopped by a location in Niagara Falls, Ontario, to see how it would measure up to US stores.

It turns out it’s pretty similar, but I found a few things to be different.

Costco Wholesale Continues Canadian Expansion with 167,000 Square Foot Relocated Store in Kelowna

Seattle-based retail giant Costco Wholesale is continuing with its strategy of opening new warehouses in communities that had older format stores in Canada, with the newest location opening in Kelowna BC.

The store at 2125 Baron Road is over 24 percent larger than the previous location and is increasing the overall scale of the operation in categories across the table.

“With the opening of this new warehouse, we can serve all of our members in the Kelowna and surrounding area and can bring new consumers and businesses to uncover the benefits of a Costco membership,” said Pierre Riel, Senior Vice-President and Country Manager, Costco Wholesale Canada. “We are very proud to share this new location with our valued members and member businesses in the local community and throughout the area.”

Kelowna was named the fastest growing Census Metropolitan Area in Canada according to Statistics Canada, which released the 2021 Census data from last week. The population grew from 194,892 in 2016 to 222,162 in 2021 – an increase of 14%.

“We are thrilled about the Costco Wholesale Kelowna relocation,” said Kelowna Mayor Colin Basran. “The upgraded Costco has created valuable employment opportunities for the region, and will strengthen the local economy by offering a wider selection of goods and services to our residents and visitors.”

Costco Wholesale has been introducing the new store concepts for relocations across the country, including a 155,000 square foot location in Montreal that opened in October. The brand has also been expanding its footprint of Business Centre concept stores, with three new stores debuting in 2021 in Gloucester and St. Catherines in Ontario and in Edmonton. Those stores joined the the original location in Scarborough which opened in 2017 and Saint-Hubert in Fall 2020.

The warehouses are open to members only, with an annual fee of $60 for a Business Membership or $60 for a Gold Star Membership.

The retailer currently operates 817 warehouses worldwide and 105 warehouses across Canada. The first Costco Wholesale location opened in Burnaby, BC in October 1985 and has since grown to an organization that employs more than 40,000 people in Canada.

Canada has a higher concentration of Costco stores than the United States per capita, speaking to the success of the Canadian market for the retailer.
