Sioux Falls, SD, Leland “Bud” Ernest Hult, age 92, went to his heavenly home on Monday, August 18, 2025 from The Sanford Hospice Centennial Cottage in Sioux Falls. His services are pending, please continue to check back to this obituary.
Upon returning from the US Army, Bud worked for Curtiss Breeding Services while continuing his education at Sioux Falls College, earning his bachelor’s degree in 1970. Bud then began his career in sales, working for Schwan’s, Harker’s Wholesale and then owning and operating his own business until his retirement. In his retirement years, Bud loved driving a school bus for CCHS for over ten-years.
Bud was a faithful member of First Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls. Though the last two years have been difficult, living in Ava’s Hospice House and Sanford Hospice Centennial Cottage, Bud kept his faith and was ready to go home. Bud’s family would like to acknowledge all of the staff at Centennial Cottage for all of the compassion, care and love given to Bud throughout the last 20 months.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Inez Hult; sister, Beverly Evjen, brother, Denwood “Denny” Hult; brother-in-law, Cliff Evjen; and sister-in-law, Nancy Hult.
