Experience with BJs Travel?
My wife and I recently booked a cruise through BJs travel. We spent a good deal of time on the cruise company’s web site, looking at the different room options, chose one, and then called BJs travel to book. The representative discussed the room choice further, and then booked us into the room we selected — a larger room on the promenade, with a window into the interior of the ship.
A few weeks later, we went to pay for the rest of the cruise, and discovered our room was actually windowless, and 5 decks below what we had originally discussed/chosen, right next to the ice rink and other activities. We are now arguing with BJs travel, who are asking us to pay $1500 more to move to a smaller room on an upper deck — what we originally wanted is now wait listed.
I am wondering if anyone else has this kind of experience with BJs travel, or if this is a “one off experience” that is unusual. Is this “standard operating procedure” for BJs travel?

I was told 6-8 weeks after departure for the gift cards to arrive. No gift card. When I inquired about it, I was told they had had problems with the batch that was shipped in September, so it could be another 2 weeks. They refused to send out any additional/replacement gift cards unless mine are not received in ANOTHER 2 weeks from the dates promised in their promotion. POOR customer service and I WILL NOT USE THEM AGAIN!

We have used BJs for four cruises and have had no problems. We do our own research and use BJs for the booking. We have a personal agent that deal with with at the agency. She has been helpful with questions and securing upgrades when prices drop. Travel services are provided by World Travel Holdings out of Framingham, MA.
The gift cards arrive 1-2 weeks after returning home. The only annoyance is being unable to contact the agency vis e-mail. It is telephone or via the web site.

I’ve been to Europe twice through Costco. Both trips were awesome. I can tell looking at the BJ’s site, it does not offer the same options and amenities. SAMs no longer does travel.

had to call several times to get corrected invoice. was told voucher for excursions and resort for a day credit would be emailed 60 days prior to cruise its well past that time and still have not received. will be calling again. have lost faith in bjs travel actually honoring promotions for cruise including gift cards when we return. will most likely not be utilizing their travel services again. very disappointing.

I booked a trip to Aruba in May 2019. With in 20 days the price went down $250 00. I asked for refund but was told they only gave refund on the price up to 24 hour after purchased. There was nothing stated on the web-site that 24 hours credit policy. You have to look at the fine print telling you about the 24 hour refund policy But on the web-site they guarantee 100% refund if you find your trip cheaper on another web-site they match it and refund the difference,

Really bad … Do not book with this travel agency! I was misled into thinking that my deposit was refundable if I canceled my trip 75 days prior to the sail date.
I voiced many concerns with the agent Monique and I was very hesitant to book the cruise but she assured me that I would get 100% back. It was not disclosed to be that there will be a BJ $100 cancelation fee and I was not told of the $500 Royal Caribbean cancellation fee.
I called the next day to cancel my trip and was charged $622.00 on my Amex. I called a dozen times and have half a dozen e-mails. No return calls and just a very generic e-mail saying they are working on my refund. not one person helped me and could explain to me why I was not told that I would be charged these fees.
I would not have booked this trip if I was unsure in the first place. I finally got In touch with the manager Rene she explained that it is Royal that’s keeping my money and all she can do is put at $500 credit on my travel account for future cruises, it can not be transferred either. She also mentioned that the agents can not go over all the rules and I have to do my due diligence and read the contract.
I’m sick over this I owe $622.00 on my Amex because of the misinformation Monique Bayard Murphy told me. Do not book with this girl she has no idea what’s going on and she will cost you big bucks.
I am filing a small claims case against this company and also going to BB. I will not let this happen again.
Good luck if you book with them but they will take your money.
