Each month the Office of Surplus Property Management (OSPM) conducts live auctions in partnership with auction houses across the Commonwealth and online, to let the public bid on well-maintained state surplus vehicles, equipment, office furniture, classroom supplies, and more at prices far below retail.

Auction Formats: We sell through two channels – Auction Houses and Online auctions via GovDeals

Preview Days: Vehicles slated for sale can be inspected during the hours listed for each event.
Terms of Sale: All items are sold “as is, where is.” Full payment is due when the hammer falls.
Frequent Opportunities: Auctions are scheduled several times each year, typically starting at 9:00 AM on Fridays or Saturdays.

Government Entity Auctions

State agencies, local governments, and other eligible public bodies can acquire surplus property through dedicated OSPM auctions designed for governmental use.

View State Surplus Property Auction Online
Any person can participate in the state Surplus Property Auction online by registering as a bidder through the Office of Fleet and Asset Management.
We are pleased to announce the State Surplus Property Auction is open and available online. The public can view surplus personal property from anywhere without having to travel to the State Surplus Warehouse. To view available surplus items, please go to www.GovDeals.com/StateofCalifornia.
Please note: Due to COVID-19 and the Sacramento County’s Shelter-In-Place policy, we no longer provide public viewing of auction items until further notice.

Online Auctions of State Surplus Property
GovDeals.com provides services to government agencies facilitating the sale of surplus items on the internet. To find our current list of online surplus items listed on GovDeals, please go to GovDeals.com. If you are interested in any of the items, you will be required to register as an official bidder online, and agree to the Terms and Conditions posted on the web page.

Posting of Available Items
New items for Surplus Property are posted weekly.
General Terms and Conditions
TERMS: The following Terms and Conditions apply, GovDeals- Terms and Conditions.
NON PAYMENT: Default shall include failure to make good and timely payment; or failure to remove all assets within the specified time. Default may result in termination of the contract and suspension from participation in all future sales until the default has been cured. If the Buyer fails in the performance of their obligations.
FINAL PAYMENTS: Payment in full is due not later than five (5) business days from the time and date of the Buyers Certificate. Payment must be made electronically through the GovDeals Website. Acceptable forms of payment are: Paypal, Wire Transfer, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, or Discover.
PICK UP: All pickups must be picked up within ten (10) days after an asset item has been won. Pick up times are Monday through Friday from 8: AM – 2:30 PM, and appointment is necessary.
